Digging Star Wars mention in Steamroller Man #1
I’ve known Matthew Schofield for, well, I don’t know how long. Many years. And he’s just an amazingly talented guy. And unbelievably nice. I mean, really a nice guy.
When I heard of his dream to get this zany comic book off the ground, I just knew I had to take advantage of it for a plug for my blog. Just kidding.
I just wanted to support him and his work. He put so much into this first issue of The Absurd Adventures of Steamroller Man (2024) and constantly kept his fans (like me) updated via works in progress on Instagram and YouTube. Eventually, I got my act together and contributed to his Kickstarter campaign (which, by the way, went well beyond its goal because it had so much potential). All that led to this moment…
Yeah, I put that in the Kickstarter – but I never expected “Digging
Star Wars blog” to be in print anywhere in this first issue. How cool is that!?
Oh, and if “David P. Ramos” sounds familiar – he should. He’s been a guest multiple times on the blog and contributed these TOP 10 film recommendations in our 10th Anniversary Digging Star Wars series. He also just happened to be the artist who rendered Henry Mancini at work in our Top 100 Henry Mancini Films logo!
Steamroller Man storyteller Matthew Schofield's connection to Henry Mancini? Welp, he sat alongside me at a Los Angeles screening of Blind Date (1987) mentioned in this Digging Star Wars blog post which just happened to be in the backyard belonging to the one and the same David P. Ramos!
